Duck Harris
1938-2000

 

   Albert Wayne ``Duck" Harris, 62, of Greenup, died Thursday at his home. Mr. Harris was born July 12, 1938, at Greenup, a son of Martha B. Allen Harris of Warnock and the late Charles O. Harris.    He was a retired carman and foreman for CSX Railroad, a past member of Greenup Water Commission and Greenup Fire Department, and a member of Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, Greenup Masonic Lodge #89, and El Hasa Shrine.
Additional survivors include his wife, Glenda Riggs Harris; two sons, Anthony Wayne Harris and William Mark Harris, both of Greenup; two stepsons, Douglas Boyles and Michael Boyles, both of Greenup; three brothers, Frank Harris of South Shore, Herman Harris of Load, and Greg Harris of Tampa, Fla.; four sisters, Mabel Hall of Greer, S.C., Beulah Coburn of Warnock, Nancy Rowland of Lloyd, and Judy Penner of Milan, Mich.; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

   The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenup First Baptist Church by Dr. Tom Melvin, Jack Edwards, and Harry Sanders. Burial will be in Harris-Webb Cemetery at Load.

   Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Wright's Funeral Home at Greenup where a Masonic service will be at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Albert ``Duck" Harris Scholarship Fund at any branch of First and Peoples Bank.
